11 room types from standard to Seduction Oceanfront Suite. What matters, what does not, and where to spend the extra money.
Temptation Cancun has 428 rooms designed by Karim Rashid, and they split into two distinct worlds. The original resort buildings hold the majority of rooms at lower price points. The Tower building, with 109 rooms across its upper floors, holds the premium and ultra-premium categories. Understanding that split is the key to choosing well.
Every room includes the same all-inclusive package. Food, drinks, pool parties, theme nights, entertainment. The difference is what you come back to at the end of the night.
The Trendy Room (67 rooms) is the base category at roughly 30 square metres. Clean, functional, Karim Rashid design touches, but compact. There is no view to speak of and limited natural light.
The Trendy Garden View (114 rooms) and Trendy Ocean View (20 rooms) offer the same room size at around 40 square metres with better views. These three categories make up the bulk of the resort inventory.
Both Garden View and Ocean View are also available as Playful Experience versions (42 and 34 rooms respectively). The Playful Experience add-on includes a sensual amenity kit, upgraded minibar, and in-room extras designed for couples. The room itself is identical, so the premium is for the package rather than the physical space.
The Plush Jacuzzi Pool View (30 rooms) adds a private in-room jacuzzi and a pool-facing position. This is the first meaningful upgrade in terms of private amenities. Having your own jacuzzi after a long day of pool parties is the kind of thing you do not appreciate until you have it.
The Seduction Oceanfront (12 rooms) combines an in-room jacuzzi with direct ocean views from the original building. Limited inventory means these book early, especially for peak season weeks.
The Tower building is where Temptation changes character. The rooms are higher up, the views are better, and the design is a notch above the original building.
Bash Tower Ocean View (36 rooms) sits at the entry point of the Tower. These are 48-square-metre rooms with ocean views from an elevated position. The name references the Bash nightclub below.
Tempting Ocean View (50 rooms) offers the same 48 square metres on higher floors with broader views.
Lush Oceanfront (13 rooms) jumps to 59 square metres and adds a private jacuzzi. These sit on the ocean-facing side of the Tower with unobstructed sea views. For many guests, this is the sweet spot: Tower location, jacuzzi, genuine space, without the price tag of a suite.
The Master Suite (6 rooms) at 128 square metres includes a wrap-around balcony, outdoor jacuzzi, and butler service. These are proper suites with a separate living area, premium bathroom, and the kind of space that makes you consider staying in for the evening.
At the very top sit the four Penthouses at 192 square metres each. These include everything in the Master Suite plus a stripper pole, expanded wrap-around balcony, and the best views at the resort. Butler service is included. Four rooms means four couples per week maximum, so availability is genuinely limited.
Temptation is a resort where you spend most of your time outside the room. Pool parties, theme nights, restaurants, the nightclub. The room is where you sleep and get ready. Keep that in mind when deciding how much to spend on the upgrade.
