430 rooms, 9 restaurants, 5 bars, 9 pool parties, topless-optional pools, and an energy level that starts at high. The factual guide to Temptation.
Temptation Cancun Resort sits right on the Hotel Zone strip, a 21-and-over playground that welcomes both couples and singles. The tagline is "Playground for Grown-Ups" and that is a fair summary. Think pool parties with DJs, themed nights five evenings a week, topless-optional pool areas, and a social energy that runs from morning till the small hours.
This is not a quiet retreat. If you want calm, look at Desire Pearl. If you want energy, read on.
There are 428 rooms spread across two main sections. The Tower building holds 109 premium rooms including Penthouses, Master Suites, and Lush Oceanfront categories. The remaining rooms sit in the original resort buildings closer to the beach and pools.
The entire property was redesigned by Karim Rashid, and the aesthetic is bold: bright colours, curved furniture, statement lighting. It looks nothing like a traditional Cancun resort.
Room categories range from the entry-level Trendy Room at around 30 square metres up to the Penthouse at 192 square metres, which comes with a stripper pole, wrap-around balcony, outdoor jacuzzi, and butler service. In between you will find:
Some categories also offer a "Playful Experience" add-on, which includes extras like a sensual kit and enhanced minibar.
There are seven restaurants covering everything from a la carte Mexican to Asian fusion, plus a late-night snack bar for post-party refuelling and a gourmet cafe for daytime coffees and pastries. All dining is included in the all-inclusive rate, including the specialty restaurants.
Six bars are spread across the property, from poolside to the Bash nightclub bar.
This is the question everyone asks first. Temptation is topless-optional, not clothing-optional. The main pool area and beach have designated topless zones, but full nudity is not permitted anywhere on the property. That distinction matters if you are comparing with Desire, which is clothing-optional (meaning anything goes).
In practice, you will see a genuine mix. Some guests go topless all day, others never do. There is zero pressure either way.
The pool party programme runs daily and is the heartbeat of the resort. Professional DJs, dancers, foam cannons, body paint stations. It is loud, colourful, and completely optional if you prefer the quieter beach areas.
Theme nights happen most evenings. Recent themes include Western Rush, Let's Get Wild, Party Angels, Holographic Vibes, Retro Neon, Velvet Rouge, and Rockin' 50s. Guests dress up. Some go all out, some keep it simple with a colour-matched outfit. Nobody checks costumes at the door.
The 21+ policy means no children, ever. Both couples and singles are welcome, which gives Temptation a very different social dynamic to the couples-only Desire resorts. Expect a younger average age, louder evenings, and a more party-forward atmosphere.
Groups of friends are common, as are solo travellers looking for a social holiday. The vibe is more Ibiza than intimate retreat.
The spa offers a full menu of massages, facials, and body treatments. There is also a hydrotherapy circuit and a gym. Spa services are an additional charge on top of the all-inclusive rate.
Temptation is roughly 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport, depending on traffic. The resort sits on Boulevard Kukulcan in the heart of the Hotel Zone, with the lagoon on one side and the Caribbean on the other. Airport transfers can be arranged through the resort or independently.
