How to Choose the Right Room at Desire Pearl

Desire Pearl feels different from the moment you arrive. Where Desire Riviera Maya is a sprawling resort with multiple wings, Pearl is compact, villa-style, and intimate. There are 93 rooms across 10 categories, and the whole property has a quieter, more exclusive feel. Think boutique hotel rather than beach resort.

Every room includes the same all-inclusive package: all dining, drinks, entertainment, spa hydrotherapy circuit, and access to all clothing-optional areas. The difference between categories comes down to space, private features, and location within the property.

The main resort rooms

Ocean View (32 rooms)

The most available category and the entry point into Pearl. These are well-appointed rooms with a balcony or terrace and views toward the Caribbean. Comfortable, clean, and everything you need. If you plan to spend your days at the pool, beach, or Allure Spa, this category does the job.

Junior Suites (13 rooms)

A step up in space with a separate sitting area. The bathroom is larger and the furnishings more refined. A good middle ground if you want more room without jumping to the premium categories.

Master Suites (6 rooms)

Significantly more living space, a proper lounge area, and upgraded bathroom with dual vanity. These feel like a genuine suite rather than a hotel room with a sofa.

Allure Suites (25 rooms)

Named after the spa, these rooms are positioned for easy access to the Allure hydrotherapy circuit. They offer a comfortable middle tier with good space and modern fittings. With 25 rooms, availability is usually reasonable even in peak season.

Master with Plunge Pool (5 rooms)

Everything in the Master Suite, plus a private plunge pool on your terrace. Only five of these exist, so they book early. The plunge pool is the single feature that guests mention most when talking about room upgrades at Pearl.

Penthouse Passion with Plunge Pool (7 rooms)

The top category in the main resort building. These come with a 70-square-metre terrace, a private plunge pool, and the best views on the property. Seven rooms means limited availability, but not impossible to secure with advance booking.

The Desire Mansion

The Mansion is a separate wing within Pearl, and it operates almost like a resort within a resort. There are 10 suites across four categories:

• Jacuzzi Suites (3 rooms) - private in-room jacuzzi
• Swim-Up Suites (3 rooms) - direct pool access from your terrace
• Royal Suites (2 rooms) - the largest standard Mansion rooms
• Royal Oceanfront Suites (2 rooms) - ocean views plus a pole dance space in the suite

All Mansion guests receive butler service, access to a private pool exclusive to Mansion residents, 24-hour room service, and access to the Mansion playroom. These perks are not available to guests in other room categories.

How to think about the choice

The decision at Pearl comes down to three questions:

• Do you want a private water feature? If yes, look at Master with Plunge Pool, Penthouse Passion, or the Mansion Jacuzzi and Swim-Up categories.
• Do you want Mansion benefits? Butler service, private pool, 24-hour room service, and playroom access are exclusive to the 10 Mansion suites. These extras are not available as add-ons for other categories.
• How much does space matter? The jump from Ocean View to Junior Suite to Master Suite is primarily about square metres and living area. The room location and resort access are the same.

Pearl is a smaller property, so no room is far from anything. Even the Ocean View category puts you within a short walk of the pool, beach, restaurants, and spa. The upgrade question here is really about what you want waiting for you when you get back to the room.
